We have an exciting line-up on the day, details below. Sedgemoor FM will be broadcasting live from the show with updates throughout the day.
What’s On
Battle of Britain Experience
It’s well known that we all learn better by doing – and a visual experience such as a full-sized replica Spitfire WW2 aircraft and a mobile museum, will certainly spark a passion for British history with your children!
The War and Peace Battle of Britain Experience is an historic and educational exhibition surrounding the momentous 16-week battle during the summer and autumn of 1940.
The Battle of Britain is the name given to the World War II air campaign waged by the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) against the United Kingdom during the summer and autumn of 1940. The objective of the campaign was to gain air superiority over the Royal Air Force (RAF), especially Fighter Command. The name derives from a famous speech delivered by Prime Minister Winston Churchill in the House of Commons: “…the Battle of France is over. I expect that the Battle of Britain is about to begin.”
“Never in the field of human conflict has so much been owed by so many to so few.” Winston Churchill

The Slackline School
Slacklining is an extreme balance sport that stems from tightrope walking. The Slackline School will be with us this year giving you the opportunity to try out and discover more about this special, fun and productive activity. It’s fun for all the family with demonstrations, taster sessions and tuition. Available to all ages and abilities; if you can walk, Slackline School can put you on a slackline.

The Jump Dogs Parachute Display Team
The Jump Dog Parachute Display Team are a highly skilled and experienced civilian team, many of whom are Veterans of the Parachute Regiment, Red Devils. They exist to offer thrilling and dynamic in-air displays for outdoor events.
We are delighted and excited to be welcoming them back to Bridgwater Armed Forces day, for a display that you won’t want to miss!

Flypast
We are thrilled to be able to confirm (subject to operational conditions) that we have a Flypast of veteran aircraft booked. Timings will be announced nearer the date. As far as we know these historical aircraft, one of which is a bi-plane, have all seen action.

Chrystal Bliss
Chrystal Bliss is a classically trained female vocalist from North Somerset. Following on from releasing Perfection her original album she has gone on to record 4 more albums.
Chrystal will be performing for us with a great selection of songs from the 1940’s. Chrystal received a great reception at last year’s event and we are really pleased that she is able to return to us this year at our new home.

The Sealed Knot Society
The Sealed Knot is the oldest re-enactment society in the UK, a registered educational charity and the single biggest re-enactment society in Europe. The Defence of Bridgwater during the English Civil War is the subject that they will be featuring at Bridgwater Armed Forces Day.
The Sealed Knot brings history to life by staging events throughout the country, offering a chance to experience at first hand the horrors of a nation at war with itself as well as providing a glimpse of everyday life in those days.

Bideford Youth Pipe Band
The Bideford Youth Pipe Band will be performing for us in 2026. The Band was formed in 1991 as a traditional Scottish Pipe Band, who play a range of favorites such as ‘Scotland The Brave’ and ‘Black Bear’. The band performs all over the South West, wearing the ancient Lamont Tartan, which they were granted formally by Peter Noel Lamont of that ilk, 29th Chief of the Clan ‘Lamont’.
We are sure everyone will enjoy their performance.
Bridgwater Sea Cadets
Bridgwater Sea Cadets are popular in the Bridgwater area. At Bridgwater they aim to give young people an experience that will help them grow into the person they want to be in a safe and friendly environment. Through various activities and adventures you will learn team work, respect, loyalty, self confidence, commitment, self-discipline, honesty and how to be the best version of yourself.
They are always interested in new faces, so please do go along and say hello to them at their gazebo.

Bridgwater Army Cadet Force (ACF)
Bridgwater has it’s own platoon in Somerset’s Army Cadet Force. The ACF is demanding and rewarding. You get back far more than you put in, confidence, assertiveness, stamina, leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, decision-making, learn new skills and benefit from unique experiences. The ACF is serious fun! Come along and have a chat with Bridgwater ACF at Bridgwater Armed Forces Day. Bridgwater platoon will be demonstrating an ‘advance to contact’ which is standard procedure for attacking an enemy using replica SA80 rifles, donated by Bridgwater Royal British Legion. Boys and girls are welcome to join.

290 DF Burnham and Highbridge now covers Bridgwater and Glastonbury, having taken over from 65 Bridgwater Squadron and 914 Glastonbury Squadron.
